One to One Privacy Policy Services

Why your Privacy Policy is Important

Your Privacy Policy is an essential document in your business.   It informs your clients and potential clients how you will treat their personal data and what to expect from you.

Having a Privacy Policy on your website and sales pages helps to build trust with your audience.    It shows that you take your GDPR and Data Protection responsibilities seriously.   It adds credibility and professionalism to your business.

The first principle of the UK Data Protection Act 2018 is Lawfulness, Fairness and Transparency – we need to let people know why we are using their personal data and what we do with it.   And your Privacy Policy is where you do this.

It’s so important that you understand what is in your Privacy Policy and that it reflects what you actually do in your business.

One of the common mistakes I see when looking at Privacy Policies is that someone has used a template or an online Privacy Policy generator without understanding how to adapt it for their own business and processes.   Either it contains lots of information that is obviously not relevant to that particular business or it is missing a lot of essential information that should be included.

Having incorrect or misleading information in your Privacy puts your business at risk of potential complaints and unnecessary stress that is so easily avoided.

Privacy Policy One-to-One

In this session we will talk through exactly what you need to include in your Privacy Policy to reflect what you do in your business.

We’ll use a standard Privacy Policy template and I’ll provide you with a Personal Data Inventory template for you to complete in your own time.

We’ll cover the different lawful basis and I’ll help you identify which ones apply to your business processes.   We’ll talk about how long you keep personal data for (data retention periods are often forgotten about, but they are a very important part of Data Protection Regulations).

By the end of the session you will have a good understanding of how to complete your Privacy Policy so that it accurately reflects exactly what you do in your business.

You will also learn enough to be able to confidently update and amend your Privacy Policy  in the future, whenever you start to do things differently in your business.

What my clients say about working with me

I recently did a personal 1-1 data protection training/GDPR audit with Sarah Richards and left feeling confident and wiser. She made the subject very easy to understand and gave me all the tools I needed to make sure my website will be completely up to date with the right policies. I also know exactly how to move forward with my new mailing list, so I can grow my online business knowing where I stand. I highly recommend using Sarah’s support!
